27th of November End Of Year F.O.N.O
Last night I went to my school’s end of year F.O.N.O (For One Night Only).
It was like the best it has ever been cause the sound was great, the acts were great, and even the audience were great!!!
F.O.N.O is a music concert open for anyone at our school to do.
You just play your instruments, sing and do whatever!!!
They are really no boundaries, and it’s not a competition!!!!
I went in it and sang one of my own songs.
I always like doing my own cause it expresses who I am.
I was like shaking before it was my turn, cause I was on second, but i’m used to being like in the earlier times cause it happens to me all the time!!!
Plus you get it over and done with so you can relax for the rest of the night.
I liked everyone who participated in it, and I can’t get the songs out of my head!!!!
Some of the songs are even originals, if they have albums, i’d buy them cause they’re so good!
I say a great big HOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! to everyone in the acts!!!!!
YOU GUYS ARE MY HEROES!!!!!!!!
ROCK ON!!!!!
Seriously it was a night to remember and now I want to get myself an electric guitar and be involved in a band to back me up for the next coming F.O.N.O!!!!!

Wendy’s (Mmmmmmmm!!!)
Today, Sunday was a hot day!
So I went to Wendy’s, the ice cream shop.
I was thinking of what to have, and I decided for a change i’d have a small Chocolate Dip Ice Cream Cone.
It’s just vanilla ice cream covered with hardened chocolate. (Incase you didn’t know)
When I sat down at this cafe my parents wanted to go to, I took a bite in the centre and guess what happened?
It fell on my skirt.
No just kidding…ha ha ha!!!
The vanilla ice cream started running all down the ice cream cone, and I was trying to lick it up before it went onto the table.
I put napkins down on the table so it wouldn’t make a big mess on the table.
I felt like a little kid!!!
And it was embarrassing because the other people at the cafe probably thought that I was a messy eater or something. (Which i’m not!!!)
That was just a small one, imagine how big the large one would’ve been!!!
Anyhow, once I had eaten all the choclate pieces off the ice cream, it became a lot easier to eat, thank goodness cause I was afraid that all of the ice cream would’ve melted before I got up to that stage.
Once I had finished I went down the exculator to go to the toilet to wash my hands.
But guess what!!!
There were no toilets.
No just kidding…again!!!
But you were very close. The toilets were being renovated!!!
It was ok though, cause after I left the cafe with my parents, I washed my hands in some other toilet. (Meaning the actual basin, not the toilet bowl, i’m not that stupid!)
That was pretty much the only exciting thing that happened on the weekend.
Except I saw this really cute guy at the supermarket!!!
But I also say that beauty is on the inside as well as the outside!!!
Hope u had a nice weekend

Musicmonkey’s Brain teaser
A man is in his lounge room, staring at a photograph hanging on the wall.
He says, ‘Brothers and sisters have I none
But that man’s father is my father’s son.’
Who is he staring at?
Please leave you answer under my comments file!
*If you get this right, you are a genius!!!
*I can’t be his nephew because he doesn’t have any brothers or sisters.
But great guess anyway!!!
Have another try!

Public Speaking! (Help me!!!)
Well today our class started our debates.
Each group had a different topic to work on.
Mine was, ‘Should students have to do sport?’
There was the affirmative team, and the negative team.
The affirmative team were arguing that ‘Students should have to do sport,’ while the negative team, which is the team that I was on, were arguing that ‘Students shouldn’t have to do sport.’
I like getting up and talking infront of the class because it’s a great experience that you may need in later life.
My English teacher, Miss Pryor said that most people fear public speaking more than they do death!!!
I’d fear death more!!!
But when I was up the front listening to my team and my opposite team, my legs were shaking cause I was quite nervous, and I was the third and last speaker for my team!!!
When I got up there I remembered what one of my cool classmates, Bryan had said. (thanx Bryan!!!)
He told me to involve eye contact and speak slowly.
It was good to have some advice like that seeing as I was so nervous.
I started doing all the things Bryan had told me, and I found that pretty easy cause I had practised infront of the mirror at home.
But I was finding it very hard to not laugh, because some of the things I said sounded pretty funny.
Like when I said that playing an instrument excercises parts of your body.
When my classmates laughed, I laughed, and whenever I thought of something funny later on in the script, that made me crack up as well!!!
But I know that it is hard to speak infront of your own peers, cause you know them, and sometimes just don’t want to let them down!!!
I got a good score though.
Here’s the script:
As third speaker of my team, for students shouldn’t have to do sport, it is my job to end my team’s argument for this debate.
Doing sport is supposed to help us keep fit and fight obesity, but it is really up to the individual to make that decision.
Plus it can be really hard and tiring work for that person, depending on what exactly they are doing in those sport classes.
I know that sometimes people’s lives are too busy for fitting in a basic walk, but think about it…
If they really wanted to keep fit, they’d create time and do it!
A lot of people suffer from medical conditions such as anorexia, asthma, cystic fibrosis, epilepsy, fainting etc, which can all have different symptoms.
Also, it could be really embarrassing for that person if they had to take medication before, during, or after the sport class and people might make fun of them, and make them feel sad.
There is a range of products to take from Pharmacies, but some parents aren’t fond of giving their child drugs.
And it’s not worth wasting the medication just because you wore yourself out in sport!
Also some medication is quite expensive to purchase.
I can relate to that because I have mild asthma.
Whenever I have to do the block run at school, I usually just walk and take it easy because if I run, I’ll have to slow down not long after and I’ll get a tiny bit wheezy and start to cough.
One day last year I had to do the beep test, which is where you run up and down the court for as long as possible, according to beeps which gradually increase their speed.
I did it for as long as I could, until I could taste blood at the back of my throat, and I felt weak.
The P.E teacher didn’t seem to know what was going on.
It is said that if you don’t do enough exercise, you won’t be healthy and fit, so that’s why students are forced to participate, but you don’t see all the teachers in the school doing fitness, because they are old enough to make their own decisions.
But aren’t teenagers old enough?
According to an article on a site called; http://www.slimtree.com/what_are_the_risks_if_you_dont_exercise.asp
they said;
‘A University of Hong Kong and Department of Health study revealed that 20 percent of all deaths of people 35 and older were attributed to a lack of physical activity. In addition, a lack of physical activity increased the risk of dying of cancer 45 percent for men and 28 percent for women, and the risk of dying from respiratory ailments 92 percent for men and 75 percent for women.’
You are probably thinking that this piece of evidence is useful for the affirmative team, but what I am trying to say about this article is that all those people who died died because of their own cause.
They chose to live the way they did.
And I believe that everyone should be allowed to live the way they want.
It only affects their body, and no one else’s, unless it is genetic.
We should all be proud of our life and enjoy it the way we want to.
That’s why I think students should be allowed to make that decision for themselves whether or not they want to do sport.
Because students aren’t forced to learn a school instrument, are they.
And yes, I know you may not think that music keeps you fit, but it does actually exercise parts of your body.
For example if you played an instrument where you blew into it, you‘d be exercising your mouth and lungs.
If you played the guitar you’d be exercising your hands and arms.
And if you played the drums, you’d be exercising your arms, feet and legs.
And just remember all that lifting of equipment that needs to be done to move on and off the stage!
Ha ha ha!!!
In the music industry there are more opportunities for jobs than there are for sport.
In sport you could be a teacher, a coach, a sport’s sale assistant, or a player.
Whereas in music you could be a famous artist of some sort, write music and lyrics for bands, be in an orchestra, be a music teacher, a music sales assistant or a Busker.
Life is too short to waste time doing things that aren’t going to get you anywhere.
So I say that it’s more important to focus on the things that you want to do in life, and the things that will get you a job.
Those are my arguments why I think that students shouldn’t have to do sport.
The decision should be in their hands!

Schwepps Lemon & Lime Bitters!!!
On Friday night I went to Safeway to buy some soft drink.
I wanted to get those mineral water glass bottles that have all these cool flavours in them.
I came across these Schwepps bottles with all these different names.
One was this tropical flavour, and there were I think some other flavours.
They came in a brown cask carboard holder (I think that’s what they’re called), like the ones you see in the Liquor stores.
I came across some Schwepps bottles called, ‘Lemon & Lime Bitters.’
A lady grabbed a bottle, so I thought I’d try one as well.
I felt really happy as I was carrying them, you may think that’s weird but it was because they looked like alcoholic drinks, I don’t want to drink alcohol of course because I believe that it’s wrong to at my age and it can cause health problems.
Then on Saturday night I had one while watching Rockwiz and the Disney channel.
It tasted sooooooooooooooooo GOOD!!!!!!!!
And it only costed three dollars!!!!!!! AMAZING HUH!!!!!!!
So if you ever get a chance, buy one and quench your thirst!!!!!

Saving the Environment
Well last weekend I went up to Jamieson, which is half an hour away from Mansfield.
I found that it took all the stress away from me because there wasn’t many cars, I experienced nice clean air, and it was peaceful, unlike the city where there are cars everywhere you look, it’s noisy, and everything is so quick and fast.
I think that people should cut down on their use of cars because it is causing too much pollution.
They should get public transport, walk or even ride a bike.
When my family and I were driving to Jamieson, we used a lot less petrol that what we normally use in the city.
Wierd huh!!!
But think about it…
In the country you can drive at a greater speed, there’s not that much cars, and there are no traffic lights.
Traffic lights cause a waste of petrol, because while your car is stationery, it is still producing lots of petrol, which is being wasted.
But in the city we do need traffic lights, otherwise there would be a lot of accidents.
Another thing is that us city people are wasting water due to having showers everyday, watering our gardens with sprinklers, and washing our car with the hose.
Friends of my family’s in Jamieson have a shower once every three days, because they use tank water.
They’ll only break those rules when they go to Church every Sunday, and when they go other places, like into town.
But the only thing that’s bad about that is hygeine!!!
If only they had had a bath, they could have just filled it up with a little bit of water, and wash themselves that way.
So country people are more Enviromental.
Us people in the city don’t really realize just how lucky we really are.
Some poor people who are living in poverty, have to use the same water, (if they can find water) to wash themselves and their clothes, go to the toilet in, and drink!!!!
No wonder they become so sick!!!
Sad isn’t it!!!
One day i’d love to live in the country, for a nicer lifestyle.
