Holes Blog!
Chelsea Vanderes was sitting at the back of the bus that went to Camp Green Lake, moaning and groaning about how she couldn’t put her lipstick on because her hands were hancuffed to the pole.
‘This is not going to be a beauty contest,’ the guard who was sitting at the front of the bus said.
‘Oh you don’t know, there’s going to be lots of cute guys there who will want to like go out with me, so i’ve got to make a good impression,’ Chelsea commented back, in a smart tone.
‘Hey they’re all hard workers, trust me, they don’t want to be hassled by a girl like you. And when they found out a girl was coming to their camp, boy weren’t they impressed.’ The Guard said, getting ready to get out of his seat, as the bus stopped outside Camp Green Lake.
‘Get these handcuffs off me,’ Chelsea screamed.
‘Ok i’m coming,’ the guard replied as he walked over to her.
Chelsea and the guard walked to Mr Sir’s office to sign Chelsea in.
‘Good evening,’ Mr Sir said.
‘Hi,’ answered Chelsea and the guard.
‘Could you just sign here please?,’ Mr Sir asked the guard.
The guard printed his signature onto the list.
‘Now Chelsea, get into these clothes, and keep the other pair for free time,’ Mr Sir explained.
‘You expect me to wear this trash?,’ Chelsea said abruptly. ‘You don’t know how much this skirt cost me. I spent three hours shopping for these clothes and this is what you give me.’
‘Well i’m sorry but when you come to Camp Green Lake, you must abide by the rules.’
Mr Sir threw Chelsea the clothes and made her get undressed in front of him.
‘Have you ever heard of privacy?,’ she questioned.
‘I just need to make sure that you’re not bringing anything dangerous into this camp.’
‘Who do you think I am, a criminal?’
‘Well i’ll certainly be taking that phone, the only communciation you can have with your parents is by letter.’
‘Just because your incharge or partly incharge of this camp, doesn’t mean that you can tell me what to do.’
‘Listen young lady, you’d better do as I ask before I send you to the Warden, who makes the decisions.’ Mr Sir looked seriously into Chelsea’s eyes.
‘Whatever!’
Ten minutes later Chelsea and Mr Sir were walking to the lake.
‘Chelsea this is Xray, Zero, Armpit, Squid, and Stanley who is our second newest camper.’ Mr Sir introduced.
‘Hi,’ all the boys (except for Zero) said, not very happy with the fact that a girl was joing their camp, but Stanley didn’t seem to mind.
‘Everyone, this is Chelsea, our first girl to ever stay at Camp Green Lake.’ Mr Sir explained, while chewing on a sunflower seed.
‘Why are you eating that?’ questioned Chelsea, who thought it was an abnormal thing to do.
‘Cause I quit smoking a while ago, and these are the only things that keep me off them.’
‘Why did you give it up, smoking’s cool, now you just look like a loser.’
‘Excuse me…I do not appreciate you making those rude comments thankyou, watch your mouth or i’ll send you to the Warden. Now Stanley, will you show Chelsea where her bed is please, and show her how to dig the hole, but don’t do it for her.’
Stanley walked with Chelsea to show her, her bed.
‘This is where I sleep, you’re telling me this is my luxury bed, Ewwww it smells of sour milk. Where is the Warden, I want to speak to him right now…’ Chelsea screamed.
‘But you can’t… trust me, you don’t want to mess with the Warden… Look keep this to yourself but a few weeks ago, the Warden scratched Mr Sir on the face with her poisonous nailpolish.’
‘Rubbish…I’ve robbed every bank in the state.’
‘So is that why you’re here.’
‘Look it’s none of your business…take me to the Warden now.’
‘Ok I will, but first let me show you how to dig a hole.’
‘Piece of cake, I dug holes when I was four years old.’
‘It’s not as easy as that, look at all the holes around us.’
Chelsea looked at all of the holes around them.
‘There’s no way in the world that i’m digging a hole as big as that, and plus I just go a manicure.’
‘Oh you’re lucky Mr Sir hasn’t seen them.’
‘Well i’ll just wear my gloves when he’s around.
‘But it gets really hot here and…’
‘Be quiet and take me to the Warden.
‘But I have to show you how to dig the hole, or you’ll be here all night.’
‘Can’t you just dig my hole for me, please, you wouldn’t want me to pass out because my bones are too weak would you?’ She looked up at him and gave him a pleading smile.
‘Well what’s in it for me?’
Armpit and Xray walked into the room.
‘You’d better start digging, it’s getting hot,’ Armpit said.
‘She doesn’t want to,’ Stanley said, answering before Chelsea had the chance to.
‘Who doesn’t want to do what?,’ Mr Padanski walked into the conversation.
‘I don’t want to dig a stupid hole,’ shouted Chelsea.
‘Everyone must dig a hole. If you don’t do it now you’ll be digging in the hottest part of the day, get stuck into it.’
‘Oh my gosh, I broke a nail,’ Chelsea screamed, running around in circles.
‘So! You’d better get used to it anyway, a lot more nails will be broken I can tell you.’ Replied Stanley.’So tell me, what do you think of the campers?’
‘You’re alright cause we seem to be getting along just fine, but it’s a bit hard to say about the others cause I haven’t really spoken to them. They’re not what I expected.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘I thought all the boys here would be cute, cause you know bad boys always seem to be the cute ones.’
‘Well you got that wrong. You know not all bad boys are cute.’
‘This camp isn’t what I expected either. It’s too dry and sunny, and I’m really thirsty. Mr Sir and Mr Pedanski seem to be a bit harsh, I mean it’s only my first day. And what’s up with that Zero kid, he hasn’t even uttered a word to me or anyone, I don’t like him that much?’
‘He’s alright, once you get to know him. I’ve actually made a deal with him. If he digs part of my hole each day, I teach him how to read.’
‘Oh i’m disgusted, and here I am digging this hard earth when you get to relax. I’m the one here who should relax cause boys are stronger than girls. Does Mr Sir know about this?’
‘Well…well.’ Stanley didn’t want to admit it.
‘Does he?’ Chelsea urged for an answer.
‘No, but please don’t tell the Warden, If you do i’ll…i’ll TELL HER THAT YOU’RE WEARING NAILPOLISH!!!
‘I don’t think think that’ll be much use compared to what you’ve done, besides you told me he scratched Mr Sir with her red nailpolish. If that’s true then i’m sure she’ll like some of mine too.’
While they had been having that conversation, Chelsea had been digging, and was now halfway through her hole already.
‘After I’ve finished my hole, i’m going to tell the Warden,’ reassured Chelsea, throwing a large amount of dirt out of her hole.
‘But you don’t know where the Warden is…’ Stanley reminded, but was cut off by a woman who had heard what he was saying.
‘I’m right here,’ the woman answered, as if she had just appeared out of nowhere.
‘Are… you the… the Warden?’ Chelsea said seeming surprised, because she thought that the Warden was a man.
‘Yes I am, is there anything I can do for you?’
‘Yes there is…uh Zero has been digging Stanley’s…’
‘Part of my hole.’ Stanley corrected, worried about what consequence he and Zero would have to suffer. He now regretted telling Chelsea their deal in the first place.
‘Is this true Zero?’ asked the Warden.
Zero said nothing.
‘ Zero and I had a deal, see Zero would dig part of my hole, and I would take up my free time to teach him how to read.’ Stanley told the Warden.
‘Well can both of you boys come with me to my office please,’ the Warden directed, leading them the way.
‘I like the Warden,’ Chelsea said out loud.

Talent Contest
On Tuesday the 15th of August, I performed one of my own songs at my school’s talent contest.
I was inspired to write the song by the thought of year 6’s having to graduate from their final year at Primary School, and move on to High School.
It was coming up for Orientation Day anyway, so I thought that i’d write a song to make year 6’s feel a bit more comfortable with going into High School.
Anyway, I was really nervous about performing this song, because my classmates have always wanted to hear me sing, and I was worried that maybe my voice wouldn’t sound too good, or maybe they wouldn’t like my song, even though I had performed that song before anyway, at F.O.N.O’s and at the Jamieson Pub.
So I introduced my song, and started singing it.
I laughed at the beginning, due to being shocked by hearing my voice bursting through the loud speakers, and because I was singing to heaps and heaps of people.
I kept on going, and finally got rid of the shakkiness in my voice.
The crowd actually clapped along to the music, which was a sign of enjoyment!
At the end of it I got a big round of applause, and then knew that i’d done a good job!
There were also another good range of acts, which were good to listen too and watch!!!
Before I go i’d just like to thank all of the audience that supported me through this tough experience, without you I wouldn’t have been able to do it!!!
And to believe in your dreams, because if you do
ONE DAY THEY MAY COME TRUE
Bye

The Band
Karena Jones was an average school student at Grayside High, California (America), well she was classified that at school I mean!
But when she wasn’t at school having fights with her friends, or doing her stupid homework that piled up on her desk every night, she wrote lyrics and music with her favourite all boy band.
They wrote songs about their boyfriends and girlfriends, well for Karena they were imaginary boyfriends, seeing as she didn’t have one.
The also wrote songs about their experiences.
Mostly they’d get together and write til they had to go home, but sometimes they just wanted to write lyrics independantly.
And that’s what Karena enjoyed doing a lot!
She was the lead singer of the band, with Alex on bass, Jamie on electric and Sam on drums.
All the guys were lucky enough to have guitars of their own.
Karena wanted to play the electric guitar so bad, and the band thought that it was a good idea to have two electric guitars, but her dad wouldn’t buy her an electric guitar because he thought it would give him and the family a headache from listening to it all night, even though he was very wealthy.
But Karena still enjoyed singing, and stuck by her dad’s word.
She liked spending time with her band because they were nothing like her popular friends at school, who were always worrying about whether she wore make-up or not, if she flossed her teeth each morning, or whether she had the latest flip phone.
At least her band weren’t in her face all the time like that, and because they were all guys they didn’t really care about what she looked like.
Her friends were only friends with her because they believed that if Karena ever got famous, they would be included in the headlines as: ‘Rock Star’s Two Best Best Friends.’
Karena was 170cm tall, had blue eyes, was 15 years of age, slim and had straight brown hair.
School was her worst enemy because of her obsessed friends.
She just couldn’t be bothered finding any new friends to hang out with because she was shy, and nobody really liked her.
If she could choose what to do in her time instead of going to school, it would be hanging around her band!
On Monday afternoon, Karena was walking to Jamie’s house, (which was where the band met up) with a song she had written about her friends.
‘Hey Karen, have ya written any new songs, we’re kinda out of ideas at the moment?,’ Jamie asked as he was walking down the driveway to greet Karena.
‘Yeah I wrote one a couple of days ago about my popular friends,’ Karena replied, rolling her eyes at Jamie, while making her way into the garage.
‘As I keep on telling you a hundred times, you need to find yourself some new fr…,’ Jamie’s sentence was destroyed by Alex and Sam shouted hello to Karena, from the garage.
‘Hi guys um… I wrote some lyrics for you, and Jamie’s just told me you all were out of ideas…thank goodness I wrote something,’ Karena said to the entire band.
‘Well quit yappin’ and lets hear it,’ Alex said enthusiastically.
