Hey there,

On the holidays i went into the City with my Auntie, Uncle and Cousin.

My cousin had to go to rehearse for his little MSO concert at 12:30 that day.

We went in by train, and got off at Flinder Street Station, then we went to a cafe.

After that we had a look around, and i took some photos of the Commonwealth Games decorations and the things being used for the games.

I was very happy to get an opportunity to go to the City, because i could see all the things to do with the Commonwealth Games, and also take photos for my assignment.

After we dropped my cousin off at the ABC Studio, we had another look around, and at one stage we went into this make-up sort of place where they sell make-up, a bit like what you have in Myers.

And they were these people who worked there, giving out notices and saying 'Would you like a makeover done in eight seconds?' I thought that would be impossible!

Then later we went to this other cafe, where you sit around this bar, and you can see the workers making coffees and stuff.

While we were there, they were these people standing behind us, trying to hint that they wanted a seat.

We thought that was rude!

Anyway, later at 12:30, we went to the MSO Concert, where they were playing music that they had made.

I took some photos of the MSO.

It was pretty good to be in an ABC Studio.

It was a good day, I really enjoyed it.

When I was in grade five, there was a boy who I was absolutley crazy about!
I gave him love letters, tried to learn his foreign language, and chased him around the school, but always failed to catch him because he would always hide in the boy’s toilets.

Well one day we were in a computer room, learning how to us Powerpoint.
We had to create a series of slides on a topic of our choice.

So I thought i’d make it about him, and include Shakira in it, because they both knew how to speak Spanish.

The basic storyline, I think from what I can remember was something along the lines of my crush going to Shakira’s concert and then speaking to her backstage in Spanish.
he had asked, ‘Do you speak English?’
And she had replied, ‘Yes!’
It was something like that and then the bit that was funny was that I had a photo on there of a boy and a girl drinking wine, outside near a swimming pool!!!!
That was supposed to have been Shakira and my crush!!!

We had to show it to the class, and not only that but it was projected onto a large board, so EVERYONE COULD SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so embarrased, and so was he.

I have one more story about him that i’d like to share with you!
One day, when I was in grade six we were doing silent reading in class, and I was reading this horror book by R.L Stine (I still luv those books).
When we were to pack up, because it was at the end of the day, he started tickling me (cause he knew I was tickelish) so he could get the book.
I let him win in the end, cause I liked him and wanted to have some fun.

Well the next day he didn’t give it back, and because I had borrowed it from the school library, it needed to be returned soon!
Because I was worried, I spoke to my class teacher, and she told him to bring the book back.

Well it came to the day when he had needed to bring it back, and he still hadn’t cause his mum had hidden it somewhere!!!
So for punishment, he was given a lunchtime detention.

I was on the floor doing reading groups, when I noticed that these tears were slowly running down his face.
Before I knew it he was bawling his eyes out!!!

When I was outside I’d realized that i’d hurt my crush’s feelings, and I started to cry as well!!!!
My class teacher called me into her office, and told me not to cry about it, or something like that!!!

Once he was let out of the dentention, everything was fine!

*It was amazing how I acted back then.
I still think about it sometimes, and wonder if I ever saw him again, what the situation would be like.
I’ve gotten over him now (of course!!!!), though it took a long time, cause he left at the end of first term in grade six!!!
I’ve just learnt my lesson to never go to that extreme over a guy that isn’t even interested in you! (in that crush way, I mean!)

Lockie Leonard, Human Torpedo was about a boy called Lockie who’s starting High School for the first time, in a new town, where he doesn’t know anyone apart from his family.

When he’s at school he meets a girl called Vicki Streeton, who he has a crush on.

They start going out and stuff, and suddenly Vicki starts doing things that isn’t appropriate for their age.

Then one day when Lockie walks out of a Cafe, he sees Vicki entering the Skating Rink, with some Bogans.

Lockie finds himself in the Skating Rink, getting beaten up by the Bogans.

Vicki and Lockie’s lives get mixed up.

One minute Vicki loves him, next minute she doesn’t!

I enjoyed this book because it lets High School students know what to expect and look out for!

i like my English teacher,because she has given us cool work such as:
